The Bergen County Cooperative Library System, known as BCCLS, was an area pioneer in making possible the rapid request and delivery of library holdings from any member library to any participating library user. PALS was incorporated in Passaic County during January 1988, to likewise promote Countywide reciprocal borrowing and to pursue the emerging automation of library services. PALS Plus, The Computer Consortium of Passaic County Libraries developed as our group of Passaic County libraries sharing a common database of holdings and electronic reciprocal circulation. PALS Plus now has members in other counties and is working on further interlocal arrangements to bring any library user any library materials that he or she might need.
