PALS is a cooperative effort of all of the Passaic County libraries, which share resources to better serve all the citizens of the County. PALS offers an array of services, designed to increase the information finding options of Passaic County residents. Interlocal cooperation is our hallmark.
"With my library card I am rich. It is my access to the inviting learning world."
- Loretta Jordan, quoted in the ALA national campaign Libraries Change Lives, and later in Michael Gorman's _Our Singular Strengths: Meditations for Librarians_ (Chicago: ALA, 1998)

Our efforts at interlocal cooperative resource sharing, initially an initiative of individual municipally funded libraries, have in recent years even received the welcome acknowledgement of our Passaic County Freeholders in terms of funds made available for some PALS interlocal programs. We are indeed grateful and hope that our services to the residents of Passaic County will continue to grow and approach realization as a unique and useful aspect of Passaic County cultural life.
