PALS exists as a matrix of inter-municipal relationships, and is itself a smaller aspect of various larger orgnaizations. For instance, PALS is one element of Highlands Regional Library Cooperative - known as HRLC. Highlands coordinates efforts and services for most of the libraries in northern New Jersey. Highlands is in turn a subset of the New Jersey Library Network, which includes the regional library cooperatives from central and southern New Jersey. Beyond that, there exist loose inter-relationships among library organizations spanning the United States. Interlibrary loan services can be, if need be, extended as far afield as necessary to obtain for you any book you seek, delivered and returned to your municipal library. Library user requests are filled from the closest availability, but librarians have seen titles arrive from the West Coast when none closer was available. Check it out.
